这张儿童版拉宾是出名的发烧片 , 录于 1950 年,百分之百的 Mono ( 单声道录音 ) 却音质奇佳。专辑中还收录了同样是是英才早逝的天才小提琴家 Ossy Renardy 演奏的萨拉萨蒂的几首曲子 ,Renardy的录音极少,因 此本碟可谓极其珍贵。
迈克尔·拉宾 (Michael Rabin1936-1972)
1936 年 5月2 日 , 拉宾生于纽约。父亲是纽约爱乐乐团的小提琴手,母亲是朱利亚德音乐学院毕业的钢琴教师。1岁的拉宾可以准确地打拍子;3岁已经表现出有绝对音高的听感;5岁母亲开始教他弹钢琴。但是命中注定小提琴才是这孩子的乐器。一天,在一位医生家里,拉宾看见了一把玩具提琴,他抓过去就玩了起来。临走时,他不想与这把小琴分手。医生让孩子把小琴带走。回到家后,父亲就教儿子学。才教了 4 次课,父亲已经明白儿子的才能不知胜过自己多少倍。他给拉宾请老师。这位老师就是刚刚从巴黎移居纽约的加拉米安.拉宾拉了段维瓦尔弟小提琴协奏曲中的困难乐章拉给加拉米安听。尽管印象很深;加拉米安还是先让拉宾跟自己的助手学习了一个夏天之后,才接收为正式学生,先是私下从学,后进来利亚德音乐学院学习。
拉宾第一次职业亮相是1947年在古巴,演奏的是维尼亚夫斯基的第一小提琴协奏曲,他当时还不到11岁。1950年,他首次在卡内基音乐厅登台,演奏了维厄唐的第五小提琴协奏曲。评论界和音乐界对这位少年的成功感到十分振奋。著名指挥家塞尔说:"他是二三十年来我注意到的最了不起的小提琴才子。"据说米沙·埃尔曼也拍着拉宾的肩膀对他的演奏表示赞赏。这也难怪,拉宾极富肉感的琴声和埃尔曼的美学理想多少有些合拍。
拉宾是加拉米安门下出名最早、才分最高的学生。他过早地去世令许多乐迷深感惋惜。加拉米安在1977年仍然动情地说道:"他是个非同凡响的才子,没有任何欠缺,从来没有!"钟爱之情依然可见。
拉宾的艺术尚未完全成熟即已夭折。他缺乏必要的感情源泉来保证自己的艺术之树长青。他在如日中天时,事业因个人问题而屡屡受挫,先是吸毒丑闻,再添大脑不稳定。 1972年1月19日是寒冷的一天。拉宾在地毯上滑倒,头撞到桌子上述然而逝。加拉米安说:"他不是死于吸毒。那时,他已经戒掉了毒品。"但是纽约市药检部门的报告表明,拉宾正是在毒品的作用下失控跌倒致死的。
拉宾二十二岁后就不再进录音室,拉宾在五六十年代录下了一些唱片,忠实地保留了他的艺术风貌。维尼亚夫斯基两首小提琴协奏曲内容比较浅显易懂,是拉宾喜欢演奏的作品。他的琴声浓烈,富有动力感,技术上应付裕如,感情上颇有几分硬汉气派。帕格尼尼D大调小提琴协奏曲拉得迅雷不及掩耳,一串一串的三度双音乐句活蹦乱跳、欢快自如。技巧轻松滞洒的同时,也暴露出粗心大意的毛病。帕格尼尼的24首随想曲拉来确实畅想如意。帕尔曼在1972年灌录同曲目唱片时,还不断受到拉宾的这张唱片的激励,但在技术上同样有一些不够细心的小毛刺。
1956年录制的两首伊萨伊独奏奏鸣曲(NO.3和NO.4)十分出色,第4首中哀怨的情调似乎特别适合拉宾的气质。他演奏的萨拉萨蒂的《吉普赛之歌》技术精湛,非常讲究乐句的呼吸调控,感觉敏锐,把如泣如诉的旋律拉得催人泪下,是这支名曲最感人的演奏。圣·桑的两首音乐会曲《哈瓦纳斯》和《引子与回旋随想曲》都有绚丽的色彩,前者散发着古巴哈瓦那的雪 茄香味,后者荡漾着19世纪的花饰涟游。西盖蒂改编的难度极高的斯克里亚宾《三度练习曲》,拉得镇定从容。恩格尔的《海贝》是一首富有演出效果的迷人小品。拉宾处理得令人神往,恨不能亲眼一睹奇妙的海底世界。
拉宾为以后的师弟们树立了一个高标准。他的音乐智慧停留在青春上,他生来就是个青春永驻的人。拉宾的帕格尼尼是如此的自然,浑然天成。技巧藏在后面,音符到了哪里音乐就到了哪里。如此神迹灌顶的拉宾,既使在后来的EMI GROC 系列的版本,都比不上当年的好。
Ossy Renardy(欧西•雷纳迪)1920-1953
美籍奥地利小提琴家。原名 Oskar Reiss,他的经纪人认为不适合于音乐会,因此改为现在的名字。1920年4月26日出生于奥地利维也纳。热纳地很小的时候就对小提琴发生兴趣。引人注目的是,他基本上是自学成才的。早期他在欧洲各地进行演出,获得了广泛的赞誉,并得到著名的指挥萨巴塔(Victor De Sabata,1892-1967)的支持。1937年,他游历美国,开始为哥伦比亚(Sony 的前身)和 RCA 唱片公司录制唱片。当美国卷入二次大战时,他应征入伍,并于1943年成为美国公民。战后,他继续自己的事业,但转向Decca公司。1948年6月27日,他录制了那版知名的勃拉姆斯小提琴协奏曲。这一版录音极富于表现力,令人激动,在当时被认为是海菲兹有力的竞争对手。
