The Butterfly stool combines Eastern influences with the plywood moulding techniques
developed by Charles and Ray Eames. The softly curving silhouette of the two seating shells
are reminiscent of the wings of a butterfly.

这款 Butterfly Stool 于 1954 年由日本设计师柳 宗里 Sori Yanagi 所设计发表，原本是学艺术的他，深受包豪斯与柯比意的影响，这款蝴蝶椅是结合功能主义与传统手工艺的创作， Sori 也曾拜访过 Charles & Ray Eames 对于他们压模夹板的技术印象深刻 并自己研发将两片弯曲对称的夹板， 以金属细棍连结制作了这张造型优雅细致的 Butterfly Stool。
